from North Eldridge to Oak Plaza drive and K161 Outfall Channel Improvements Harris County

Reconstruction of 1.3 miles of a two way lanes asphalt roadway to accommodate a continuous left turn lane for Harris County Precinct 3 as Prime Consultant.  As a separate attached project, K161 ditch widening for 1.7 miles and detention area.  Responsibilities included, roadway geometric design, hydrologic studies (including HEC I and HEC II analysis), storm sewers, utility replacements, traffic control, traffic signalization, pavement markings, ROW acquisition for K161, extensive coordination with HCFCD.  Major challenges of this project was converting the old drainage system which was inadequate and caused frequent flooding, to a new one and realign, reshape the K161 ditch which outfalls to Cypress Creek.  Wetland determination/delineation, Corps of Engineers permits, outfall structures, slope stability analysis right-of-way acquision, and traffic signal modifications were also included in our work.
