Spur 10 A US 59 (S)
Spur 10 A US 59 (S)
Scientech was a major team member for this complex project of roadway reconstruction. It involved reconstruction of both main lanes and frontage roads on US 59, about a mile each direction, north and south with open ditches and a major grade separation over Rail Road and US 59 on Spur 10. This eliminated the at-grade crossing of busy Spur 10 at US 59 and allowed for it’s continuation to the south of US59 as well. Major work was in Hydraulics, roadway with reconfiguration and realignments of frontage roads, tall retaining walls and layouts, an 1200 foot long, 11 spans, two segmented bridge that went over a RR with future provisions for widening of the Spur 10 from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. This was accomplished by building the abutments/bents (with columns and footings) at present so in future only the floor beams and slab can be constructed without much problems and without obtaining any easements and RR Exhibits approval. Two other bridges, 3 spans each, over Coon Creek were also in the limits of project. Traffic Control, Construction Phasing, Pavement Markings and Signals at frontage road intersection to Spur 10 (on the bridge) were also among tasks performed. Complete PSE Package, including General Notes, Schedules, etc. The project is successfully completed at present.
