Bertner Paving and Bridge
From Holcombe to S. Braeswood
Scientech was the Prime consultant on this complicated project in the congested Texas Medical Center. The project consisted of constructing a new 4-lane concrete roadway boulevard with numerous left turns and a bridge over Brays Bayou. The new roadway will serves as entrances to three new medical facilities; the ACB building (cost of $250 million), TECO plant which provides all chilled and steam lines to all institutions, MD Anderson 3800 car garage and new School of Nursing. This roadway provides for a north-south artery to alleviate congestion of Holcombe to S. Braeswood. Tremendous amount of utility coordination/adjustment was performed for large chilled waterlines, steamlines, several fiber optic lines, HLP duct banks, HLP overhead power lines, underground vaults, storm, water and sanitary lines on this project. Wetland delineation, Corps of Engineers permits and extensive hydrology studies for present and future conditions had to be submitted to HCFCD for project Brays.
