Bridge Engineer

Scientech Engineers, Inc. is a well-established engineering firm in Houston serving its municipal, local and state governmental agencies clients with over three decades of continuous service.  We are seeking a motivated professional to join our bridge design team in Houston. Some of the duties include:

• Perform structural design calculations on all elements of bridge, in concrete and structural steel
• Supervise drafting efforts for all aspects of design, Bridge Layouts to Detailing, to produce a set of bridge plans to be bid
• Coordinate with others such as roadway designers, geotechnical and survey sub consultants
• Perform quantity take offs and develop cost estimates

Qualifications

• BS or MS In Civil Engineering from an accredited college (emphasis in structural engineering is preferred)
• 5 years plus experience in similar work
• Good oral and written communication skills
• MicroStation knowledge is required
• Knowledge in applicable bridge design software for concrete, steel bridges, superstructure and substructures
• Team player and good working relations with co-workers
